The new name better represents the broader scope of services clients need to engage with their stakeholders effectively.
New York, NY, January 24, 2024 – Purposeful Communications, the seven-year-old strategic communications firm founded by Frank De Maria, former Global Head of Communications for NASDAQ, has changed its name to Purposeful Advisors. The new name speaks to the firm’s evolution in response to the needs of clients in a dynamic marketplace.
Purposeful Advisors will remain dedicated to helping enterprises uncover, define, and refine their purpose. Businesses must clearly articulate why they exist, their mission, and the problems they were built to solve. Purposeful helps clients get to the core of their purpose, identify their most important stakeholders, and tailor their messaging, communications, and campaign strategy accordingly.
“We recognize the changing landscape of communications is driving a shift in the role of the communications professional from technician to coach and advisor,” said Frank De Maria. “This is especially true for start-up, scale-up, and mid-sized companies that require advisors with real-world experience who understand the challenges young companies face. Through that lens, we remain focused on providing solid strategic communications and public affairs support to founders, entrepreneurs, and senior leaders to help them define their purpose and achieve success.”
Elie Jacobs, who joined Purposeful Communications as a partner in May 2021, will be a Founding Partner of Purposeful Advisors. Jacobs reflected on the firm’s evolution: “Over our careers, but especially the last few years, we’ve noticed how founders and executive teams tap into the depth of our experience well past ‘just’ communications and public affairs services. Today’s complex stakeholder environment demands more from advisors than in the past. Issues and reputation management are now core aspects of an enterprise’s value – not ‘just PR.’ Having the experience and ability to see and understand the entire landscape is the advantage we bring to clients.”
